Early 2019 was a whirlwind for me. By the end of April I had taken 5 trips, vitisted 7 countries, and flown 50,000 Miles. We went to New York, and Nashville, Took our moms to Europe, and my next stop was a Solo weekend trip to Zagreb, Croatia.
The Deal
I have always wanted to visit Croatia, but was hoping my first trip would be more than a couple days. However, when British AIrways and Croatia Airlines had a Self-Dump error fare to Zagreb I could not resist. This error-fare benefited Chicago, NY, Boston, Miami, LA, Seattle, Atlanta, and San Francisco. Prices were as low as $238 out of Chicago and my home base of Seattle was as low as $275. However, as I only had vacation time enough to take a short trip, my dates ran $358 R/T.
Was this a good deal?
So, was this a good deal? Absolutely. While recently it has been pretty cheap to fly to Europe, the lower demand destinations still remain expensive. On average a flight from Seattle to Zagreb, Croatia will run you upwards of $1,000 r/t with a very good deal being around $750. So this fare sale was more than 50%, especially if you were able to snag a flight in the $200s. More excitingly, my Seattle to London leg was going to be on a Boeing 747, a plane I never flown on before.
