Our “Wherever the deals take us” feature will have one or both of us taking adventuring to the cheapest destination that we can find. We will review every aspect of the trip and detail the efforts we took to keep our wallets happy. This will be ideal for those who are looking for a quick, cheap getaway or those who find themselves on a business trip looking for ways to pass the time in a strange city. This is a monthly feature, but may not always be flying to our ultimate destination. We are huge fans of a road trip and when we get a long weekend we love nothing more than packing up our puppies in the card and hitting the open road.
The Deal
My first “Wherever the deals take us” deal just a short hop from my homebase of Seattle: Boise, Idaho. Both Delta and Alaska were selling round trip flights to Boise for $110. Given this I decided fly to Boise on Delta’s Embraer-175 and back to Seattle on Alaska’s Bombardier Dash 8. I had never previously been to Boise and honestly never even considered it. When I booked the flight, I wasn’t sure what there would be to do and was seriously concerned that Boise would not hold my interest.
I could not have been more wrong, Boise turned out to be a town with tons of charm and a lot to do.
