It had been an interesting morning. Link went to the vet and Litnik was unleashed on the world. After that we had an amazing lunch at Chedda Burger. At this point we were relatively close to the Utah State Capitol building. I feel like each state’s capitol building says a lot about the state. When I was in Boise I visited the Idaho State Capitol Building, and found it small but extremely elegant.
While the Florida State Capitol Building is clearly…. well man parts. It really does say a lot about Florida.
Utah State Capitol Building Interior
The Utah State Capitol Building is on the top of a small hill overlooking the surrounding area. It is set apart from its surroundings by a large grassy area. Thus, emphasizing state capitol’s importance. While slightly larger than Idaho’s, it is very generic containing all of the elements of a standard capitol building.
Its genericness does not take away from the beauty of the building. Especially when seen with the little surrounding decor.
Utah State Capitol Building Interior
The interior of the Utah State Capitol Building is extremely elegant. The center of the building consists of beautiful artwork depicting Utah’s state history.
Your eyes are dawn up towards the building’s dome as you walk towards the center.
The building was really the epitome of class and, I assume, one of the nicest buildings in salt lake city. While we were exploring the building there multiple groups taking pictures for the special events. Including a couple weddings and a quinceanera. Of course it could also be because it is a gorgeous free photo venue.
Overall
The Utah State Capitol building is beautiful inside and out. While a little generic on the outside, it is still beautiful. But it is the inside that really wows. With no entrance fee, the State Capitol building is a great way to spend 30 minutes to an hour in Salt Lake City.
