After having a late breakfast at Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro, we went to the STIL. The STIL (Sweeter Things in Life) is a restaurant in Boise serving ice cream and alcohol combinations. These combinations include beer/cider/wine floats, paired alcohol and ice cream flights, and booze infused ice cream. The first time I went to the still i regretted not getting more adventures flavors. So this time I was after some redemption.
The STIL is located in a very cute area of downtown boise located near the local movie theater. We decided to park our car, get the Bug and Monster on their leashes, and take them for a walk to the ice cream shop.
The menu had changed slightly since my last visit to the STIL in October. Unfortunately between wrangling the Bug and Monster and taking turns going inside to see the menu, forgot to take a picture. However there were only a few changes from the menu from my visit back in october.
“Be STIL my heart! This was the perfect treat while passing through Boise. The two flavors I chose are reminiscent of a chic soiree. Walnut, raspberry, and goat cheese ice cream paired perfectly with the boozy berry cider sorbet. “
Both of Stephanie’s flavors were fantastic. The Picnic in the park was an extremely rich flavor, but not so rich that it you can only eat limited amount. The 32nd Cider house, was a fantastic berry cider that made for an excellent sorbet. Her flavors significantly outshined mine, I ordered the “Cookies with Grandma,” a coconut cookie dough and the Market Stroll. They were both extremely good, but the Market Stroll was my favorite over the Cookies with Grandma. While I know it was a coconut ice cream, the coconut flavor was a lot stronger than I expected.
Upon further review, the STIL held up. The STIL’s extremely creative ice cream flavors are exceptional and infusing them with alcohol is an excellent idea. As someone who prefers to eat his calories rather than drink them, this gets you best of both worlds.
