On the heels of my trip to Monterey Stephanie and I really wanted to do something together. So we decided to take a road trip over thanksgiving weekend. Initially, we planned on going to Yellowstone, but on the eve of the trip we found out that the park is essentially closed until their winter season starts in December. So we scrambled to figure out another destination for our trip. As neither of have been to Utah, we settled on Salt Lake City.
Why We Love Road Trips
When Stephanie and I had only been dating for about 2 months we decided to take a road trip. We drove from Florida up to Ohio to visit Cedar Point, the roller coaster capital of the world. Looking back it may have been a little crazy to go on a such a long trip with someone I just started dating, but at the time we didn’t think twice.
If I was love with Stephanie before we went on the road trip I definitely was by the end. We spent a little over a week talking nonstop, there never was a lull. We created memories and inside jokes that we still talk about. At only two months into the relationship that is when I knew I was going to be with her her forever.
Ever since that first trip, road trips have been an important part of our relationship. We try to take road trips at least a couple times a year and have driven all over the country. One of our favorite things about road trips are that we are able to travel with our dogs, “The Bug” and “The Monster”.
The Salt Lake City Trip
This trip ended up being a very interesting trip. Our trip started on thanksgiving day and we left much later than intended (we left around 10pm). During this trip we had the Monster get sicks and had to find a vet in salt lake city, stephanie got sick, and we had some pretty awful weather. That being said Salt Lake City was an amazing city with much more to do and eat than we ever expected. We were only in Salt Lake for about a day, which is not enough to really do the city justice especially with having to spend a good portion of that day at the vet.
This page will serve as the hub for the Salt Lake City trip. As we create entries you will be able to find the links on this page.
