When traveling I tend to stay in my hotel room as little as possible; I view the hotel as just a place to sleep at night and any time spent there during the day is just wasted time. Given this I determine whether I stay based on:
- Location
- Quality/Comfort
- Price
Location
As I was going to have an extremely short time in Boise, I did not want to put my trip in the hands of a public transportation system that I was unsure of (and saw nothing of it while I was there) and rented a car. Given that I was driving, I didn’t need a location right in the heart of the city. Inn America is located at 2275 Airport Way which is a three minute drive to the airport and only a ten minute drive from the airport. This made it easy for me to make an 8:00am flight as well as allow convenient access to to all of the sites that I was planning on visiting in Boise.
Quality/Comfort
Inn America is highly rated on most hotel booking sites receiving an 8.7 on booking.com, 8.4 on hotels.com, and a 4.2 on expedia; it scores highly in all categories but most importantly in cleanliness and comfort. I take all reviews with a grain of salt, but Inn America did live up to the expectations. The room was relatively sizable and included a king-sized bed, television, a desk, chair, dresser, mini-fridge, and microwave. The room itself was perfectly clean and did show any signs of age.
For a hotel considered a “budget motel” the bed and pillows were unbelievably comfortable and the sheets were soft. I tend to have problems falling asleep and getting comfortable in beds that aren’t mine, but in this bed I had no problem.
Inn America also provides a complimentary Continental Breakfast. It is a very simple breakfast that wasn’t anything impressive, but it was free so I cannot complain too much. It consisted of waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, and juices.
Price
Being a budget hotel outside of Boise City Center, Inn America was extremely cheap I booked it through Priceline as an Express Deal. An Express Deal with priceline is where they do not give you the name of the hotel but give you the general location and a TripAdvisor score. From this it is typically easy to determine which hotel you are booking. I ended up booking the room for $55/night + $15.97 in taxes for a total of $70.97. This was about $30-$40 cheaper than comparable hotels in downtown Boise.
Overall, Inn America Boise is a fantastic value for your money. The room is extremely nice and once of the more comfortable hotel rooms I have stayed inn. This combined with the free breakfast and the extremely low price makes it an amazing place to stay on a weekend getaway to Boise.
