After my time spent at The Club at SEA, it was time to head to the gate for my early morning flight to Boise.
Booking
My flight to Boise was straightforward and easy to book to find and to book. As both Delta and Alaska were advertising $110 round trip flights from Seattle to Boise, the flights were available to book directly through the airline as well as through almost all online travel agencies. To keep all of my currently booked flights together in one place, I booked this flight through the Chase Travel Portal. I booked a Delta basic economy fare which meant I was not entitled to any checked bags or advance seat assignment. I was however allowed the normal allotment of a carry-on and a personal item.
Check-In/Boarding
Basic Economy fliers on Delta are allowed to pick their seats as soon as check in opens 24 hours before the flight. I checked in the second it opens and there were still many seats available; I was able to get my choice of a window or aisle seat. I headed to the gate about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and the flight started boarding right on time. Basic Economy fliers typically are typically put in the last boarding group, however, as I have a Delta Airlines American Express Gold Credit Card I was able to board in boarding group one and was one of the first economy passengers on the plane.
Plane/Seats
Embraer-175 jets are regional Jets that fly flights that are typically less than two hours. The standard economy seats on Delta’s E-175 have 31 inches of pitch, are 18.25 inches wide and in economy are set up in a 2-2 configuration. Delta’s E-175’s interior looked extremely fresh and well maintained. Unlike some of the newer planes other domestic airlines are ordering with slimline seats that have minimal padding, the E-175’s seats were extremely comfortable and well padded and did not show any signs of wear. These planes are also equipped with wifi however which can be utilized to stream entertainment to your portable devices with Delta Studio.
Flight
The flight pushed back from the gate a few minutes early , and as we taxed I was able to take some pictures of the sunrise and see a few Alaska Airlines college livery planes.

From takeoff to landing the flight to boise was right around 1 hour in length. The flight attendants were extremely friendly and provided one drink service where we were offered Biscoff cookies or a pretzel snack mix. The flight was smooth with only minor turbulence and we landed without problem 15 minutes early. Overall, Delta provided a fantastic experience for this short flight to Boise.
