So, we napped a little too long at the Hilton. That is a drawback of taking a redeye flight. By the time we woke up, it was about time to head to Puffs! We arrived at the theater and picked up our tickets, and had about 30-45 minutes before the show started. By this point we were very hungry. So we decided to try and find a quick snack before the show. We decided to wander until we found something. Not too far from the theater, we found Baked By Melissa.
Baked by Melissa
While I never heard of Baked by Melissa before, Stephanie knew of it, and got extremely excited the second we stumbled upon it. Baked by Melissa is a bakery that specializes in Bite-Sized cupcakes and macarons and has been growing in popularity in recent years. Currently Baked by Melissa has 14 locations in the New York City Area. Eleven of those locations are in Manhattan. So if you are in Manhattan, you can bet you are not too far away from Baked by Melissa. Despite this, Stephanie determined that it had to be fate, and this was going to be our pre-show snack.
We ordered a 6 pack of bite sized cupcakes, which ran us $7.50. Which seems a bit pricey considering the size, but $7.50 isn’t much to make your wife happy!
Stephanie and I both loved our mini-cupcakes. The micro-cupcakes from Baked by Melissa are little nuggets of fluffy wonder. How is there so much flavor in such a small bite?! Each tiny cake starts with one of their many flavored cake bases, then donned with a silky frosting, and finally garnished with unique toppings that tie the whole thing together in a neat little bite sized bow.
At only 50 calories each, you don’t have to feel guilty indulging in 2… or 3. Whether treating yourself to a pre-dinner sweet (I am a grown-up, I can if I want) or a post-dinner night-cap, Baked by Melissa’s dessert amuse-bouche idea is genius.
If you are on a trip to New York and want a sweet treat you will have a lot of options. However, among those options you should definitely consider Baked by Melissa’s bite sized pieces of heaven.
